To coincide with International Women’s Day 2017, the North Kensington-based Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising are launching a series of talks, films and workshops focused on women in advertising.

Beginning on 8 March, to celebrate International Women’s Day the Museum is showcasing the short film, 10 from 50, which examines how gender stereotypes have changed in advertising over the last 50 years.

From there, a series of talks examining the construction of gender roles through packaging and advertising are being given on 10 and 24 March and 7 and 21 April. Talks begin at 2pm.

26 March sees the Museum host an afternoon of talks and trails to share the history of the Museum on Mother’s Day. Looking at motherhood through branding, advertising and games from Edwardian times until today. The afternoon looks to appreciate the roles of mothers and reminisce and remember childhood moments.
