For the first time, Comic Relief has opened a grant scheme for core costs of charitable organisations.

Grants of up to £40,000 over 24 months of activity (i.e. £20,000 a year) are available for charitable organisations that have a turnover between £100,000 and £500,000 and at least 75% of their activities fit one of the following themes:

  • Investing in children and young people
  • Empowering women and girls
  • Improving health and wellbeing
  • Building stronger communities.

Core costs are the costs that are involved in the running of organisations and can include salaries, overheads and day-to-day running costs such as rent, heating and lighting.

The deadline for applications is 27 July 2016 (midday). For more information on the programme, and to apply, visit www.comicrelief.com/grants/initiatives/core-strength.
