Organisers of the Golborne Road Festival have launched a crowdfunding campaign to meet a shortfall in their fundraising.

The Festival is scheduled to return this year on Sunday July 10. The family-orientated fun day brings free entertainment and activities for people of all ages and sees thousands of people from North Kensington joining in a celebration of their local area.

The volunteer run event is now in its seventh year. To ensure the free entertainment and activities can go ahead as planned a crowdfunding campaign has been launched on the locally focused platform Spacehive.

Individual supporters, local shops and businesses are encouraged to pledge a donation with the money only being taken if the full fundraising target is met. The Festival is currently £1,400 short of its target with supporters having until 28th June to pledge.

Volunteer event organiser, Kuldip Bajwa from the Golborne Forum said,

“It’s important for us that all the activities and entertainment are free. We want everybody to be able to come out and enjoy the festival alongside their friends and neighbours. We want to see thousands of people from North Kensington joining in a celebration of their local area.”

The Festival will see Golborne Road closed to traffic with a live music stage providing performers with the imposing backdrop of the iconic Trellick Tower.Planned children’s entertainment will include a bouncy castle, face painting and arts and craft activities.  There will be international food and community stalls, free health checks and plenty of sports activities for the more energetic.
