Ever wondered where that 5p goes when you buy a plastic bag? Well, Tesco have teamed up with Groundwork to launch Bags of Help, which provides up to £12,000 for community groups to transform local spaces.

In each area 3 successful applications, which have been assessed by Groundwork, will be put forward to a public vote in Tesco Stores over two weekends. The most popular project will be awarded £12,000, the second most £10,000 and the third will receive £8000.

The fund is intended for capital projects that provide community benefit and do not charge for access. Eligible groups include community organisations, registered charities, social enterprises, Community Interest Companies, schools and housing organisations.

The deadline for applications is 12pm, Friday, 3 June 2016.

Further information and the application process can be found on Groundwork’s website.
