Kensington and Chelsea residents! As you probably know, Her Majesty turns 90 this year and to celebrate, local organisations have clubbed together to hold a quintessential British tea for the Kensington and Chelsea’s older residents on 12 June 2016 at Kensington Town Hall.
This informal event aims to remember our older residents, many of whom are isolated and away from family and friends in an inter-generational event with local cadets and other youth organisations.
Can you help out?
So far local schools, voluntary groups, residents and local businesses have contributed towards the event and the organisers are on the lookout for more people who would like to get involved.
As this is a community event, it will rely on lots of willing hands and support. The organisers will welcome anyone interested to get involved with any of the following activities:
- Helping secure donations for the Tea (including support from local shops, community groups or generous residents);
- Assisting older guests to get to and from Kensington Town Hall, including volunteer drivers; and
- Assistance at the event itself.
To get involved, do contact Zara Ghods (Kensington and Chelsea Forum for Older Residents) on 0207 352 1336 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
