One of the many ways to volunteer your time and get involved in community life in Kensington and Chelsea is to become a Special Constable. ‘Specials’ work alongside police officers and have not only the same uniform, but the same powers as they help to reduce crime, the fear of crime and form a vital link between the police and the community.
Through our Team Kensington and Chelsea initiative, we followed our local team on their beat around Portobello.
So, check out the video below and if it inspires you to make a difference locally visit www.rbkc.gov.uk/volunteer to find out how you can!
Thank you to all of the Special Constables who took part and showed us what it’s like to be a Special!
