A Silver Sunday fun day, a tour and intergenerational cricket match at Lord’s cricket ground, a crystallised edible flower making class and a Silver Sunday quiz are just some of the activities on offer to the borough’s older residents as part of this year’s Silver Sunday celebration.

Beginning on Monday 28 September, the activities, for residents aged 65 and over, continue until Friday 9 October. During these dates there will be over 80 free or low-cost activities and events being hosted by the borough’s community and voluntary organisations and the Council, to encourage older residents to stay active and involved in their communities. This year’s Silver Sunday celebration includes some special telephone discussions which will be run by Open Age and are aimed at people who are house-bound.
