On Saturday 25 April anyone with a bicycle can peddle through the borough’s streets to raise money for local mental health charities.

Organised by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, the event is open to anyone who can ride a bike and starts in Holland Park at 11am.

The route heads north towards the famous Portobello and Golborne Road Market, on to Little Wormwood Scrubs Park before returning to Holland Park.

Meanwhile from 10am to 3pm on the sports pitches in Holland Park there will be free family entertainment. Events and activities include performances on stage by Doc Bowling and his Blues Professors, SMART’s Band, Alexandra Berglof and the marvellous Sing to Live choir, compered by BBC London’s Jumoke Fashola.

There will also be hands-on activities to try including:

  • Sew Portobello craft workshop
  • print-making with ACAVA
  • pedal-powered smoothie bike
  • children’s play area and face painting
  • bike maintenance

Refreshments are available all day starting with breakfast at 10am.

Registration is £5 for adults and £3 for children (under fives are free if parents bring them in child seats).

Anyone who can ride a bike is welcome. The ride will be marshalled.
