Guest piece from Luma Ifram, Architecture student from the Royal College of Art

RCAJoin first year architecture students from Architectural Design Studio 3 (ADS3) at the Royal College of Art for a Public Consultation to reinvigorate the Exhibition Road Pedestrian Tunnel.

ADS3 (one of the groups in the School of Architecture entering the competition) have been working on a Live Project Design Competition, issued by Transport for London in conjunction with the Exhibition Road Cultural Group, to propose the tunnel as facilitator for greater community involvement and public use. By opening up the tunnel to the community and through the programming of events, they anticipate the tunnel forming a new cultural space that starts to operate in a different way.

ADS3 would like to give local residents an opportunity to hear their design proposal and discuss with you activities and alternative uses for the Exhibition Road Pedestrian Tunnel that would contribute to cultural production and/or the furthering of local culture.

tunnelWe extend the invite to attend a public consultation event on Tuesday 9th December at the Royal College of Art. The consultation will be held at Courtyard Gallery 1, Darwin Building (entrance via Jay Mews). Refreshments will be available from 6.15pm ready for a 6.30pm start.

You will have the chance to look at their design proposal and share your ideas and feedback in an open Question and Answer session that will follow.

For further information, to RSVP or if you want to get involved in the plans, please contact me at: luma.ifram@network.rca.ac.uk or 07540373940

We look forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas and comments!
