Local residents from Kensington and Chelsea have formed a friendly and welcoming group of Ambassadors to help out at various cultural and community events in the Royal Borough throughout the year.
Inspired by the fantastic Team London Ambassadors during the London Olympics, the K&C Ambassadors project hopes to create a pool of volunteers ready and willing to promote our cultural activities and events so that everyone can make the most of what our borough has to offer.
The K&C Ambassadors are also part of a new initiative by the Royal Borough to increase the number of people volunteering by making it easier for those with busy or unpredictable schedules.
The project launched with a successful pilot over the October half-term with 50 Ambassadors braving the weather and crowds of visitors to the Exhibition Road area to provide a smile and guidance to the thousands of people wanting to spend time in our amazing museums.
We love the diversity of our team which ranges from 17-77 years and has 17 native languages! We’re always ready to welcome new Ambassadors so please contact Hilary Harvey at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to get involved.
Join the K&C Ambassadors at two upcoming events in November and December:
- Creative Quarter Day 28th November – we’ll be helping to steward this day for young people taking part in workshops around the Exhibition Road area to get an insight into creative careers.
- Westway Christmas Festival 16th/17th December – help with setting up, stewarding and encouraging people to join in the Christmas fun at the family friendly festival
