Help raise awareness, provide information and support the prevention or management of diabetes across Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham  by becoming a Diabetes Champion.

Every 3 minutes someone in the UK learns they have diabetes while an estimated 630,000 people are not aware they have the condition. In the Royal Borough, the Desta Consortium are looking to reach people who are most susceptible to developing diabetes, across communities.

Two roles are currently available:

Diabetes Champions: Volunteers with or without diabetes that have a passion to run at least 4 events per year providing advice and support to the public on how to prevent and self manage diabetes. Full training is offered in partnership with Public Health and expenses are repaid.

Diabetes User Group Members: Members of meetings that are designed for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes to discuss issues related to diabetes services across the 3 boroughs. The purpose of the group is to offer feedback and ideas on how to shape current and future services. Expenses are repaid.
