If you pop down to the World’s End Piazza, you’ll notice an en-tile-ly new feature, following the unveiling of a mosaic by the Mayor of the Royal Borough, Councillor Condon-Simmonds.

Created by the pupils of Ashburnham Community School and helped by borough-based design group, Urban Eye – the mosaic has transformed the neglected pillar underneath St. John’s Church.

The mosaic, funded primarily through City Living, Local Life brought people from across Chelsea Riverside together through the consultation, design and installation stages with the aim of giving the children a sense of ownership of, and pride in, their community.

Much like those who identified this unloved space, if you have an idea of how to improve your local community, why not share it and start something good through City Living, Local Life?
