Come and learn about road safety for cyclists on Wednesday 29 October, 7.30 to 9.30am.

Road safety is paramount, especially for vulnerable road users such as cyclists who are negotiating the busy roads of London. Kensington and Chelsea’s Road Safety Team and the Metropolitan Police’s Traffic Cycle Safety Team aim to raise awareness for cycling safely around the borough.

Exchanging Places is an award-winning programme which addresses the most common cause of serious injury and death to cyclists – collisions involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). It gives cyclists the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of an HGV to see for themselves how difficult it can be to see a cyclist riding close to the lorry. Experienced traffic police officers will also explain how this type of collision often happens and the various ways to avoid them.

Dr Bike will be there offering free cycle maintenance checks and advice. A bike marking service will also be available.

Come and find them on Exhibition Road near the Victoria and Albert Museum.
