A fundraising concert for Future Talent is being held at Holland Park School (Campden Hill Road, W8 7AF) on Saturday 13th September, from 7.30pm. The Duchess of Kent will be in attendance to enjoy an ensemble of 14 professional guitarists playing classical and more modern pieces.
Future Talent was formed as a result of the Duchess of Kent’s experience of the limited opportunities for the development of musical talent in more deprived areas of the UK. After teaching music in a primary school in Hull for a number of years, Katharine Kent was aware that there were young people of considerable talent who were not being recognised or acknowledged. Consequently, she founded Future Talent at the end of 2004 and it has grown steadily to establish itself as a nationally recognised charity which supports musically gifted children throughout the UK.
