A new, state of the art children’s home in East Row has opened to provide the latest and best practice in child care.

Replacing the home at Whistler Walk on the World’s End Estate, Olive House provides places for up to 9 children at a time. With individual flats and rooms for the children, a quiet room and recreational space outside coupled with 24-hour care the home gives children high quality accommodation. The house is also energy efficient with green roofs, solar panels and heat recovery unit.

Olive House was opened in memory of former Councillor Shireen Ritchie  who was a driving force behind the building of the new home.
