Third Sector Development Officer
Up to £38,300 per annum
The Royal Borough has a long tradition of encouraging a dynamic and thriving third sector as an important part of the Council’s drive to help build community resilience and encourage civic responsibility.
This exciting role sits at the heart of the Council and implements our work on local third sector support. The Community Engagement Team distributes over £2 million in grant aid to community centres, legal and advice services, infrastructure organisations, and a number of innovative projects. The team also has lead responsibility for the Council’s relationship with the voluntary and community sectors locally.
We are seeking an experienced officer to co-ordinate this work, ensuring that grant-funding is used effectively; that senior officers are kept abreast of relevant policy developments affecting the voluntary sector; support our flagship City Living, Local Life initiative; and that the Council continues to have a positive relationship across sectors and relevant partnerships.
You’ll have experience in grant-making; monitoring; developing policy; liaising with the voluntary sector, and strong communication skills. Confident, personable and analytical, you will have the ability to work with individuals and groups at all levels and from a wide range of backgrounds and want to make a difference to communities in Kensington and Chelsea.
