Supported by City Living, Local Life, the Notting Hill Nurseries Carnival enables children and families to experience their own carnival ahead of the world famous Notting Hill Carnival (23-25 August).
Held since 1986, the Nurseries Carnival brings together local nurseries and play groups in Golborne and Dalgarno area – with children designing and making their own costumes. Costumes are not all there is however as a number of other evens including the Baby Nappy Derby, Glamorous Mothers and Granny Show Me Ya Hat competitions will take place with medals, trophies and t-shirts to give away to competitors.
No carnival would be complete without a taste of the Caribbean and a Steel Pan band which will be playing throughout the day. To add to the atmosphere, young players and bands will also be performing in the Junior Panorama Championship and vying for the Junior Panorama Trophy.
So, for a taste of the carnival atmosphere for all the family drop down to Kensington Memorial Park on Monday 11 August from 11.00am-5.30pm.
