Are you interested in supporting your local community?

Do you have professional skills you could share with a local charity?

The Get on Board Kensington and Chelsea project, an initiative to support local charities to find new board members, will be holding a Garden Party on the evening of Thursday 17 July in Ladbroke Grove. It will be a chance for interested people to find out more about what the role involves and meet with 14 charities in an informal setting.

The charities include organisations working with older people and people with learning disabilities, as well as a community centre, a neighbourhood advice centre and a carnival steel band. They are looking for people with various skills including marketing, media, finance, law and human resources.

The role includes attending meetings about every six weeks (usually on an evening) where you will be part of developing the strategic direction of the charity and help to ensure it is well run and in good health.
