Do you have a passion for local communities?
Do you want to find out more about the local community and its needs?
Want to take action to connect local residents with charitable organisations?
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver an Action Research Pilot Project in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The aim of this project is to help connect local communities so that they are working closer together for the benefit of the neighbourhood. This will provide greater opportunities for communities to participate and strengthen their neighbourhood.
Things you could do include:
– Collecting information and evidence from the local community in a range of different ways
– Identify and signpost local residents to local organisations
– Helping to organise events for the community
– Running a fun activity-driven campaign stall
– Report back on all the things you have found out
– Or you might have other ideas on how to connect people and we’d be really keen to hear them
Who we are looking for
We are looking for self-starters, those who enjoy talking to others and finding out about community needs and those who want to learn how to bring others together to take action. Enthusiasm, passion and curiosity are more important than experience.
What we will do for you
Pay for your travel expenses (only applicable on London Underground zone 1 – 6) and provide you with a lunch voucher! Each volunteer will have a staff mentor to help you along your way. We will also provide information and resources and train you to carry out community research work if necessary. We will also provide a platform for you to network and meet other local volunteers and activists.
Please send your CV and a short cover letter (no more than 1 side A4) to Ambika Sharma – Ambika@kcsc.org.uk. If you want to have a chat about the role then call Ambika on 0207 243 9806.
