ShootStraight is a charity working with young people who are facing exclusion from school and the brain child of film maker Lucinda Cary, who has identified a niche in the education system and engages with young people in improvisation based screen acting workshops that end in the production and screening of short films.
The charity aims especially to engage young people who are facing exclusion or threat of exclusion from school. The participants can achieve an Arts Awards; a unique national qualification that helps young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.
ShootStraight provides workshops at different levels, all of which end in the screening of a film for the participants and their communities.
SJD Events have joined up with ShootStraight and will be hosting screenings of the films that have been created to date, at Chelsea Theatre, Worlds End. The Chelsea Theatre is a big supporter of ShootStraight and have kindly agreed to provide tea and coffee and light refreshments on the evening and SJD Events will be providing the wine.
There will be two screenings on Monday 10th March: 5pm to 6pm and 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Some of the young people involved will be in attendance.
